Hi, I'm Rich, (not financially). I am not a professional developer, or programmer by any means. So, What You See Is What You Get. Nothing famcy or elaborate. I wrote the script, and developed this site using HTML, (Hyper Text Markup Language). A source code language used to write text-style sites. With a little JavaScript and CSS, (Cascading Style Sheets), thrown in to make the site more dynamic. Like popup windows, popup pages, etc. So, I think I have proven an old cliche wrong, "You Can't Teach An Old Dog New Tricks". So PLEASE believe me when I say, "If I can do it, so can you." Web developing and programming are not difficult. If you can cut and paste, then you can be on the web within a short time. I am learning three languages or scripts, at the same time. It's fun and keeps my mind active and re- laxed. and have not only the website, but have written a program for a game, Maze-(6 levels), and working on a few others at present. So, give it a try, you may even suprise yourself like I did.
I was born, (Not hatched.), and raised, in northern New York State, in a small hamlet, called Thendara, which is Iroquois for "bark eater". It is located at the southwestern portion of the Adirondack Mountains, nestled inside the "Blue Line" of the Adirondack Park. The Adirondacks are believed to be the oldest mountains in the US, and maybe in the world.
If you climb up to one of the peaks, and look out over the mountains, you will see that the peaks have been worn down, or rounded by glaciers. As long as you are there, enjoy one of the most beautiful scenes that God has created. Bring your family up for a great vacation. Lots to do and see. During the fall, the colors are beautiful. Of course, it is beautiful all year long, and the wildlife is still abundant. Heck, all you have to do is walk throught any village and you will probally see deer, bear, raccoons, squirrels of all kinds, and of course I can't leave out the "little theif", the chipmunk. They are so cute to watch their antics. And you may even see the visitors and natives feeding them. So don't be a bit suprised if one runs up your pant leg and scrambles into a pocket to see what goodies you have. (Its a good idea to have a pocket full of peanuts). Or they may grab some cash and go buy their own. LOL The Adirondack State Park is the largest state park east of the Mississippi. It can hold five (5) of the largest state parks west of the Mississippi, with room to spare.
I have worked at many different places and jobs, paid and volunteer, throughout my life. From a caddy, (carrying a golf bag), to carpentry, woodworking, logging, roofing, dry wall, skilift operator, ski patrol, road construction, telephone line construction, dish washer, bus boy, cook, bartender, waiter, wrangler and groom, (taking care of someone's elses horses and stalls), riding instructor, trail guide, life guard, instructor for water safety, snowmobile safety and boating safety, ambulance driver, EMT, Firefighter, both civilian and military, (USAF), and then worked as an Orderly, Nurse's Aid, LPN, then RN, Just ot name a few. Now I have retired and wishing I was nursing again.
I enjoy all kinds of music: Country, early Rock and Roll,
Christian, Gospel, Bluegrass, Polka, Folk, some Classical,
Ballads, Jazz, Pop, Blues, and the older generation music
from WWI, WWII, etc., and also folk music from other
countries, especially jodeling, (Pronounced - Yodeling).
I also enjoy amature radio, learning web development, programming, reading, cooking, hunting, fishing,
watching adventure movies, comedies, sci-fi and fantasy, history, and Discovery and Science channel, RFDTV,
chasing women, but only the ones I can catch. Which are far and few between.
I will never complain if someone wants to learn to play an instrument. I have chased many wild animals into neighboring states because I wanted to learn how to play a tuba. Big mistake. However, two moose that were in the area, must have thought I was trying to find a mate. Believe me, one moose in "rut" is not easy to deal with, and two, are even worse. The horn went one way and I hightailed it the other way faster than a jack rabbit with it's tail on fire. I went back with Dad to get the horn, who was getting a real chuckle out of it. When we got back, both moose were contently grazing near the back porch. We decided it just might be a good idea if we went around the back of the garage and head for the front door, with Dad giving me an "evil" eye. It was right about then that the alarm went off, and I woke up. I went to school and very happily gave the horn back to the band teacher and asked him for something quieter, like the guitar. He just smiled.
My hobbies include fishing, hiking in the woods & watching the wild animals, berry picking and eating, woodworking, amateur radio, cooking, playing games on my computer, listening to music, watching television once in a while, and visiting with friends and family, and flirting with and chasing women. I only chase the ones I can catch, you know, the ones in wheel chairs or gerichairs. They can't get away. Now I can add web design and programming to my hobbies. Love it all. My hero's in order are God, Mom, Dad, my sisters and brothers, any soldier who is fighting for peace and to stop terrorism, Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Mail carriers, telephone, and power company line repair people, Amateur radio operators, and all other volunteers who help and give aid during disasters.
Not all pages are up and running yet, but I am working on them and at the same time, I'm teaching myself the code. So if you have any complaints, ideas, or anything you think I should change or add, just go to my guestbook and fill in the info there. Thank You.
